Are you discouraged? Everyone, at some point in their life, gets discouraged. Why?
- you are doing what is right, but the outcome is not right
- you are trying as hard as you can, but nothing ever happens
- you feel overwhelmed
- you feel like nothing ever changes
- you feel like you cannot do something that will work out right
- and on and on…
The reasons and facts are endless. One way to get out of the doldrums, even if you have a legitimate right to be there, is to volunteer for someone or for something that is a good cause. Maybe you even need to help yourself. Dopamine is a natural consequence of choosing the right, or doing what is right to help someone else. This means you will get a good feeling inside of you when you do it.
Homeschoolers/Parents/Educators/Devotionals: sketch/color an illustration. There are two places you can read the following story. Read the story called, “The Tame and Wild Olive Tree” by clicking here. Or you can also click on Romans 11: 17. Put these words in alphabetical order and use them in a sentence: tame, wild, olive, tree, helping, others, stronger. Write down what you are going to do to safely become a helper. Do it. Create a journal called “All about Me”. Write in it how you feel when you help others (including yourself). You can write other things in it too. Try to write in it on a regular basis. It only has to be one sentence for each day. At the end of the 2024 year, read it and see how it has made you a happier and better person.
