September 16th is Mayflower Day. In 1620 the Pilgrims left Plymouth, England to find a place to practice religious freedom. Did you know?

Dot-to-dot and color activity with Mayflower ship and pilgrims.

  • The Pilgrims also wanted to find a better life for themselves
  • The Pilgrims were headed to Virginia on a ship called the “Mayflower”
  • Due to a storm, they landed off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts
  • There were 102 people on the ship
  • William Bradford helped establish the idea of self-government
  • The Pilgrims joined the Wampanoag (native Americans) in the first Thanksgiving

Homeschoolers/Educators/Parents: Sketch/color an illustration. Theme: travel. Read the story called The Gingerbread Man in Learning to Read: Favorite Fairy Tales (Kindle/Audiobook/Paperback). Describe how the Gingerbread Man ran away from the cook. List those who chased the Gingerbread Man. Put these words in alphabetic order: gingerbread, cook, dog, fox, cat. Write about the Pilgrims coming to America. (Skillset: creativity, identify, comprehend, apply, opinion)
