Where do you go to get your news? There are so many options. It can be a little overwhelming. New television stations come while some old ones go away. Please check out the accuracy and issues that are presented. “Agenda setting” is when the media decides which issues are important enough to even present to the public. See below for a list of a few of the stations that are available –

Homeschoolers/Educators/Parents: Sketch/color an illustration. Theme: news. Read the story called Chicken Little in Learning to Read: Fairy Tale Adventures (Kindle/Audiobook/Paperback). Put these words in alphabetical order: sky, falling, chicken, news, little. Explain why Chicken Little shouted, “the sky is falling”. Use the word “news” in a sentence. What is one story you heard on a news station and later heard it told differently? Talk about what you think is the most important news. (Skills: identify, comprehend, describe, analyze, creativity).
